Nursery
About the Nursery
In 1988, my parents started our tree nursery as a hobby in Ottersum, in North Limburg. The family business has since grown into a professional, internationally oriented tree nursery with multiple locations in Ottersum and Ven-Zelderheide. The nursery now has over 15 hectares of open-field cultivation, 2 hectares of greenhouses, and 2 hectares of container beds. We run the nursery with a team of 10 enthusiastic, permanent employees.
Proprietary License Types
We are incredibly proud of our own licensed varieties: Laurier ‘Elly’ and Laurier ‘Bonaparte’
The Laurier ‘Elly’ is my favorite hedge plant. That’s because it holds special meaning for me. This laurel variety is actually named after my mother. In my opinion, ‘Elly’ has all the qualities a good hedge plant should have: it’s extremely hardy, resistant to disease, and has a fast, compact growth habit. This means you’ll quickly have a dense hedge that definitely won’t get too wide.
The Laurier ‘Bonaparte’ is a special variety! This is because the new growth of this variety has a bronze sheen. These leaves usually appear at the end of the blooming period, around May/June. “Bonaparte” is a brand-new variety and has recently become available on the European market. In 2020, “Bonaparte” even won a medal for “Best Newcomer” at Europe’s largest tree nursery trade show!
