The Photinia ‘Red Robin,’ known scientifically asPhotiniax fraseri ‘Red Robin,’ is a plant that’s becoming very popular! And there are good reasons for that.
The different colors of this plant are beautiful. When the “Red Robin” sprouts new leaves in the spring, these young shoots are a fiery red. In the summer, the leaves turn dark green, and in the winter, they turn dark red. This allows you to enjoy the plant’s changing colors in your garden all year round.

This type of privet grows about 20 to 40 cm per year. Because the ‘Red Robin’ has a spreading growth habit, it’s best to prune this variety once or twice a year. The best time to do this is in the spring (March through May) and/or in the fall (September through November).
