Olive Willow
The olive willow is known in Latin as Elaeagnus. It is a unique hedge plant that bears fruit.
This plant has green leaves with a grayish tint. This species can be recognized by the silvery sheen it retains throughout the year. The Olive Willow blooms in September, October, and November. During this period, small white flowers and orange/red berries with a silvery sheen appear on the plant. Because of this, the plant is also known as the silverberry.
What makes the olive willow special is that this plant is extremely tolerant of exhaust fumes and salty sea air. Do you live in a busy city with a lot of traffic or near the ocean? Then the olive willow is a great choice to plant!
This plant has an average growth rate of about 20 to 40 cm per year. You can use this plant to create a medium-height hedge up to 250 cm. Are you looking for a taller hedge?
