We’re very pleased with this nursery! We received a beautiful proprietary variety: the Laurier ‘Elly’. The plants were of good quality, nice and full, and healthy. You can tell right away that they’re grown with a great deal of expertise and care.

In addition, the service was friendly and professional. Everything was delivered neatly, and they kept their promises. We are very happy with the results in our garden and can definitely recommend this nursery to anyone looking for high-quality plants and expert advice.

Bay Laurel 'Genolia'

The "Genolia" laurel is known in Latin as Prunus laurocerasus "Genolia." This laurel variety has a narrow, upright growth habit. This makes the "Genolia" ideal for creating a narrow, neat hedge—perfect for a small garden.

The 'Genolia' laurel is also a fast grower. This plant can grow as much as 40 to 60 cm per year. This means you’ll quickly have a tall hedge, which in turn provides plenty of privacy. Are you looking for a laurel variety that grows more slowly? Then the Portuguese laurel might be a good option.

Another added benefit of the "Genolia" is that this plant can be planted virtually anywhere. This variety has no specific requirements for its location. Do you live in the middle of the city or on a farm? Is the hedge in full sun or in the shade? And do you have very wet soil or very dry soil? It doesn't make much difference to the "Genolia" laurel!

Because this laurel has a compact, neat growth habit, we recommend pruning it once or twice a year. The best time to prune your laurel hedge is in the spring (March through May) and/or in the fall (September through November). You can’t go far wrong when pruning the ‘Genolia’. This plant recovers quickly after pruning.

During the laurel's blooming season, beautiful white flowers appear among the green leaves. This usually happens around April/May. These flowers attract butterflies. Afterward, red berries may appear on the branches. These berries, in turn, attract birds.
